GCP and IAM strict security compliance at Starling Bank

In partnership with Google, we carried out a successful PoC creating custom Cloud authentication and authorisation methods in order to ensure that GCP would be able to run the bank’s workloads and applications from a security point of view.

Strict FCA and EBA regulated guidelines were implemented and on top of that the even stricter bank’s own security rules. A combination of Terraform + custom made Golang based Cloud Functions did the trick.
